A pregnant woman suffered a miscarriage after she was kicked in the stomach by a mugger as she waited at a bus stop in broad daylight.
Police have today revealed details of the cowardly assault which took place as the victim chatted to her mum on her mobile in Wanstead, east London.
A man on a white bike rode towards her before kicking her in the stomach and snatching her iPhone X from her hand.
He cycled off towards Wanstead tube station.
At the time of the robbery on July 29, the victim was nine-weeks pregnant and suffered a miscarriage a short time later, police said.
A manhunt has been launched to find the suspect described as mixed race, around 30-years-old, a stocky build and with tattoos covering his left arm.
He was wearing dark blue shorts, a dark blue baseball cap, carrying a white bag and his bike was white without a rear mudguard, according to police.
The Met Police launched an appeal for information and issued an e-fit of a man officers are “keen to identify” in connection with the incident.
Detective Constable James Pepperell, from the Met Police’s East Area Burglary and Robbery Investigation Team, said the attack had “caused much heartache and pain to the victim and her family”.
He added: “This is a particularly sad case that has had life changing consequences for the victim. Needless to say this has caused much heartache and pain to the victim and her family.
“I am keen to hear from anyone that can assist in the identification of this e-fit. If you are the person responsible then do the right thing and come forward.
“I know that some time has passed since this incident but I would ask anyone who witnessed this or saw the man on the bike after robbery took place to get in touch.
“No matter how insignificant you may think your information, it could be the missing piece to our investigation.”
